Balluta Bay , Sliema , Malta
Balluta Bay located within Sliema and St Julian’s on the northern coast of Malta. It’s a beautiful place to be when you are on holiday in Malta. It’s the tourist resort which is very popular also for locals.
The sandy part of Balluta Bay is located just in front of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel which was built by Confraternity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in 1859 and it’s been rebuilt three times when in 1974 it became the parish church of Balluta Bay. It has very wide stairs leading down to the bay with handrails for easy access to the water. It’s very small sandy beach and really shallow but still it’s a beautiful place to relax and work on your suntan. Just a bit further Balluta Bay gives way to the rocky part of the shoreline which is also perfect for swimming and sunbathing and plenty of space to spread your towel on. The sea here is fresh, clean, clear and very safe to swim. It’s a great place for snorkelling and fishing. In the peak summer this tiny rock becomes very busy and alive. In Balluta Bay you will find lots of restaurants, snack bars, little kiosks near the shoreline and cafeterias on the coast road. In the evenings the promenade is fantastic for nice long walks, watching people doing barbecues and much more.
