Malta National Aquarium

Triq it-Trunciera, Qawra, malta

The Aquarium visitor attraction in Qawra is an EU Co-funded project being implemented through a private public partnership (PPP) project between MTA and Marine Aquatic LTD. The attraction features 130 species of fish - from large sharks to tiny clown fish. They are being kept in 26 tanks according to their usual sea temperature. Most of the tanks replicate the Maltese coastline. The largest tank, which is home to tropical fish, is 12 metres long and features a tunnel through which visitors can walk while fish swim above them. The aquarium, which had a soft opening in August, also features an exhibition of Malta's maritime heritage. The aquarium is open every day from 10a.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket prices are €12.90 for adults and €6 for children. Children under the age of five enter free of charge.
